Party Animals Pet Therapy

Party Animals Pet Therapy sessions provides residents one-on-one connections with our cuddly, lap-sized animals and a session of reminiscing about pets and animal experiences. Seniors love snuggling our rabbits, feeding the guinea pigs, and chatting about our chinchillas.

Some of our favorite and most rewarding zoos are our therapy zoos. Whether we’re helping at an assisted living center, a clinic for children with disabilities, a Special Olympics event, or a hospital, we’re always having as good of a time as our wonderful clients. Let us provide a special (and affordable!) program for your group.  We can negotiate weekly or monthly packages.

Benefits of Bunny Therapy

The goal of Party Animals Pet Therapy is to improve a patient’s social, emotional, or cognitive functioning. Animals can also be useful for educational and motivational effectiveness for participants.

The therapeutic use of pets as companions has gained increasing attention in recent years for a wide variety of patients. Unlike people, with whom our interactions are often very complex and unpredictable, animals provide a constant source of comfort and focus for attention. Animals bring out our nurturing instinct and make us feel safe and unconditionally accepted. We can just be ourselves around them.

Our pet therapy programs meet your resident activity goals:

Party Animals is committed to providing animal connections to people of all ages. As an established provider of pet therapy sessions, we have had the privilege of working with dozens of the top care and nursing facilities in Santa Barbara including:

  • Casa Dorinda Premier Senior Living
  • Valle Verde Senior Living
  • Friendship Center Adult Day Care, Montecito

For our seniors programs , we allow everyone to sit in your facility’s comfortable chairs and we give mats for 6-10 people at a time (depending on the needs of the clients and number of available helpers), and then we hand them animals to hold in their laps. Our most popular therapy animals include bunnies, chinchillas and guinea pigs. We’re sure to talk with everyone about how to pet and hold the animals as well as give animal facts and interesting information about them and encourage the residents to reminisce about their own experiences with animals.
These programs can accommodate up to 30 adults at a time or 12-15 children and can be broken down into 15-30 minute groups. Our price for a pet  therapy hour starts at $150.00/hour.  We offer $25% discount for more than one booking per month
